Job description
- System Operations: Supervise the daily operation and parameter monitoring (pH, differential pressure, water flow, and fan function) of industrial wet scrubber and exhaust ventilation systems.
- DOE Compliance: Act as the designated Competent Person to ensure factory emission levels strictly align with the Malaysian Environmental Quality Act 1974 and Clean Air Regulations 2014.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct required performance monitoring activities, maintain precise record-keeping, and compile field training or operational reports for DOE submission/inspections.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all scrubber components (pumps, nozzles, packing media, and fans) to minimize equipment wear and avoid production stops.
- Industrial Safety & Health: Collaborate closely with the internal team to align air emission controls with wider Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) industrial compliance goals.
Requirements
- Certification: Must hold a valid CePSO (Certified Environmental Professional in Scrubber Operation) qualification from DOE EiMAS.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science/Engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in managing industrial air pollution control systems (APCS) in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Strong analytical capabilities for troubleshooting process deviations, reading instrumentation, and root cause analysis.
- Languages: Good professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia (ability to converse in Mandarin/Chinese is an added advantage for internal team alignment)
